Sporal S – biological indicator. I-001
Product description
catalogue number: I-001
Application:
Indicator for the microbiological assessment of the effectiveness of dry hot air sterilisation. Biological test.
The filter paper disc contains Bacillus subtilis spores capable of reverting to vegetative forms. The spores of the strain used have strictly defined and reproducible survival characteristics under dry hot air sterilisation conditions. Sporal S is inactivated when the sterilisation time is at least 2 hours and the dry air temperature in the sterilisation chamber is not less than 160 °C, assuming the sterilisation process is carried out correctly.
Remove the paper bags containing the Sporal S discs from the foil packaging and place them in various locations within the steriliser chamber. Once sterilisation is complete, transfer the discs, whilst maintaining aseptic conditions, to test tubes each containing 10 ml of casein-soya broth. Incubate at 37 °C for 7 days. If sterilisation is ineffective, the broth will become cloudy and a scum will form. If sterilisation has been carried out effectively, the broth will remain clear.
