Application:
A selective medium for the enrichment and differentiation of haemorrhagic E. coli O157:H7 strains from food and clinical samples. It utilises the fact that E. coli and most faecal microflora metabolise sorbitol, whereas the E. coli O157:H7 strain lacks this ability or utilises sorbitol very slowly.
