Application:
A medium for the simultaneous detection of the ability to produce indole (indicating the presence of tryptophan deaminase) from tryptophan and the ability to ferment mannitol. It is used in the simplified diagnosis of bacteria within the Enterobacteriaceae family isolated during microbiological purity testing of water.
